When a monument is the right sign
Curb presence — not highway height.
Monuments sit at eye height near the entrance. Use them when the job is arrival, not long-range capture, or when a tall pylon is not permitted on the lot. This makes them ideal for dealer entries, hospitality drives, ordinance-limited sites, and campus & multi-building.
In dealer entries applications, fascia and monument held to the brand book on one lot. For hospitality drives, ground identity that matches the letter standard on the building. When height caps rule out a pylon, the monument still has to identify the property.

Specification checklist
Base, grade, tenants, and the code that governs ground signs.
Foundations and grade
Soil, drainage, and landscape integration sized for this lot.
Visibility
Arrival sequence and sightlines at driveway speed.
Tenant configuration
Single-tenant or multi-tenant cabinets specified as one family.
Illumination
Internal or external lighting to the brand and to local illumination rules.

In the program
From the brand book to a permitted base.
When you work with us, the program covers every step from initial site visit through final inspection. The process flows as follows: survey (entry geometry, sightlines, and grade recorded before the cabinet is drawn), then permit package (dimensions, materials, and anchors in the form the city actually reviews), then manufacture (built in montreal next to the fascia and letters that share the same lot), and finally set & inspect (plumb, lit, and closed out with the rest of the site identity).
Monuments fail in the landscape as often as they fail in review. We specify drainage, access, and low-maintenance finishes, then install and inspect as part of the same identity package as the fascia or letters.
Monument or pylon
Entrance identity, not highway height.
Use a monument when the job is arrival, or when a tall pylon is not permitted. Ground-sign rules are not pylon rules.
| Consideration | Monuments | Pylons |
|---|---|---|
| Reading distance | Driveway and pedestrian | Highway and setback lots |
| Code section | Ground / monument signs | Freestanding / pylon signs |
| Site work | Grade, drainage, landscape | Foundation, wind, crane |

Selected work
Built into national programs.
We have built this product type for programs across North America, including Jaguar Land Rover — Oakville, ON.
Monument questions
Pylon vs monument, and what the lot allows.
Pylon or monument?+
A pylon is for distance — highway and setback lots. A monument is for the entrance. Many programs need both; the ordinance often decides the height.
Can a monument carry illumination?+
Yes. Internal or external lighting is specified to the brand and to local illumination rules, then built into the shop file.
Do monuments share a program with fascia?+
They should. Dealer and hospitality lots are judged as one identity. We design, permit, build, and install them as one package.
